I've been thinking that Macrorie's I-Search approach may work well for my 1102 writing-about-writing research assignment, but I'm torn about whether this sort of writing-to-learn method will be more beneficial to students than a more traditional/transactional genre like the conference paper.
Any ideas?

End of the semester Prezi
I know that I've had trouble embedding my Prezis before, so I'm trying it again. This is actually a presentation that I'm hoping to show on our final exam day. Last week, on our last official day, I had students write and share a "toast for writing," where they "filled in the blanks" to these statements:
I will never again say that my writing is _______.
Writing is still ______ but I will never do _______ again.
I was so impressed with and touched by their toasts, so I decided to compile them in a presentation and post them to our Facebook group. It was a really nice way to end the semester and, despite its corniness, students seemed to enjoy it.
